Linamar for the Performing Arts
A program of River Run Centre for elementary school children, dedicated to igniting a life-long appreciation of the performing arts.
Twice yearly River Run presents a program of performances by award-winning musicians, actors and dancers to over 14,000 students in grades one through eight.
To ensure full accessibility for every child, River Run offers free admission to each performance. Now in its 12th year, Linamar for the Performing Arts is funded by the City of Guelph, Ontario Arts Council and the Department of Canadian Heritage, and is generously supported by Linamar Corporation.

Grade 7 & 8 October 30 to November 1, 2012 Spin Evalyn Parry Inspired in part by the incredible true tale of Annie Londonderry -- the first woman to ride around the world on a bicycle in 1894 -- artist Evalyn Parry spins a web of stories which travel from 19th century women's emancipation to 21st century consumer culture. Her co-star is a vintage bicycle, suspended in a mechanic's stand on stage, and played by percussionist Brad Hart, who conjures an astonishing array of sounds on his "iron horse". evalynparry.com/spin

Grade 5 & 6 November 6 to 8, 2012 Treasa Levasseur Toronto-based singer, pianist and accordion player, Treasa Levasseur has recently added on-stage storyteller to her menu of performances. She is celebrated as an extraordinary versatile artist who draws from a deep pool of influences and has been compared to artists like Bonnie Raitt and Carole King. Grades 5 & 6 January 22 to 24, 2013 Number 14 Axis Theatre Vancouver's Axis Theatre returns to River Run with The Number 14. Stemming from a series of improvisational skits and showcasing some of Vancouver's most gifted physical performers, this slice of urban city life has wowed audiences around the world. Grade 1 & 2 February 11 to 13, 2013 We're Going on a Bear Hunt KW & NB LTD Michael Rosen's award-winning picture book, We're Going on a Bear Hunt, is brought vividly to life in this lively and lyrical stage adaptation. Full of rhymes and onomatopoeia (bang, boom, splash!) this production will take students on an exciting interactive quest to find a bear. Grade 3 & 4 April 9 to 11, 2013 Boo! Sursaut Compagnie de Danse Founded in 1985, Quebec-based Sursaut Dance Company is devoted to the creation and production of dance shows for young audiences. The company's most recent work, Boo!, highlights the beauty in the contrasts and in the complicity that grows from the differences between two people. Grade 1 & 2 April 16 to 18, 2013 The Gruffalo Tall Stories Theatre Company Following the international success of Room on the Broom, England's Tall Stories Theatre Company returns to North America with this beloved story of the magical Gruffalo and a very brave mouse. Grade 7 & 8 May 7 to 9, 2013 Miss Caledonia Melody A. Johnson The year is 1955. Desperate to escape the stall-cleaning and hay-baling drudgery of life in RR#2 Caledonia, Peggy Ann Douglas has a plan: she will simply become a movie star by winning the local pageant. Actor and eccentric comedienne, Melody A. Johnson, accompanied by sassy fiddler Alison Porter, tells the story of her mother's dream to escape, with loving clarity.
